He was the father of 11 children. Desendants of the 108 year old gentleman are numerours. His 3rd Great Grandson is a member of the Times-Tribune Editorial Staff . His wife Sarah during the Revolutionary War said to have existed an entire week on boiled beans and poke leaves as she was compelled to hide to avoid British Calvary. Maynard lived in Kentucky until he was 28 years old, when he came to Madison County and entered for himself 80 acres of land
