MRS. JOHN HENNING DIED AT TOPTON AS IS SUPPOSED ON TUESDAY NIGHT . SHE OCCUPIED A HOUSE ALL ALONE. ON WEDNESDAY MORNING THE NEIGHBORS BECAME ANXIOUS TO KNOW WHAT HAD BECOME OF MRS. HENNING . THEY ACCORDINGLY WENT TO HER HOME AND ON ENTERING THE SAME FOUND HER LIFELESS FORM STIFF IN DEATH . TO ALL APPEARANCES SHE MUST HAVE BEEN DEAD FOR SOME TIME. A JURY WAS SWORN AND AN INQUEST HELD. THE VERDICT OF THE JURY WAS THAT THE IMMEDIATE CAUSE OF HER DEATH WAS APOPLEXY. THE DECEASED WAS NOT LIVING WITH HER HUSBAND FOR THE PAST 10 YEARS , OWING TO DISAGREEMENT. IMMEDIATELY UPON HER SEPARATION MRS. HENNING CHOSE THE TEXT FOR HER FUNERAL WHICH IS RECORDED IN THE GOSPEL ACCORDING TO JOHN 16TH CHAPTER VERSES 32. BEHOLD THE HOUR COMETH, YEA , IS NOW COME , THAT YE SHALL BE SCATTERED , EVERY MAN TO HIS OWN, AND SHALL LEAVE ME ALONE AND YET I AM NOT ALONE , BECAUSE MY FATHER IS WITH ME. THE FUNERAL WAS HELD YESTERDAY FORENOON AT TOPTON BY REV. G A SCHWEDES OBITUARY IN MACUNGIE PROGRESS, MACUNGIE , PA. THURSDAY AUG. 1, 1889 PAGE 1
