      Richard Beauchamp (1382-1439) was the son of Thomas, 12th earl of Warwick. 13th earl of Warwick (1369-1401). One of John of Gaunt's supporters during his regency for the young Richard II, and subsequently one of the five lords appellant. He joined their forces at Waltham Cross on 14 November 1387, and then fought at Radcot Bridge against Richard II's army. The king invited him to a banquet in 1397, then arrested and imprisoned him in the Tower, in revenge for his actions as a lord appellant. He was freed on accession of Henry IV. The Beauchamp Tower is named after him.
