NOTES (1) From St-Leonard des Parcs, Normandy, France Ancestor of Thomas Chapais, Georges Etienne Cartier, François Nicolas And of Louis Fréchette. Guillaume had two sons, Noel and Jean. Noel was a riverboat pilot on the St-Lawrence. Jean was a ships captain and showed up in Quebec several times. It is also believed possible that he had three daughters, Marie, Marguerite and Francoise. Marie married Jean Juchereau. Marguerite married Abraham Martin in 1613. Francoise married Pierre Desportes. All of the above except Jean were in Quebec in 1634. It is generally accepted that Marguerite and Francoise were sisters from Liseaux, France. Rene Jette has Guillaume listed as deceased on Noel's marriage certificate of July 25, 1634. His wife Jeanne, was listed as living.
