Nicolas Marcotte was born November 23, 1642. He is the third son of Charl es Marcotte and Jacqueline Boucher. The following information was extract ed from a copy of "Genealogical Dictionary of the Marcotte Families" by Fa ther Jean Marcotte, capuchin. Nicolas Marcotte and Martine Taurey contracted with Notary Romaine Becqu et of Québec as witness, on the 1st of September 1670. This took pla ce at the residence of Anne Gasnier, widow of Jean Bourdon, cartograph er of Nouvell, France, then and until his death in 1668, Attorney Gener al of the Conseil Souverain.
