Her paternal grandparents were Lord de Badlesmere Bartholomew de Badlesmere III and ; her maternal grandparents were Ralph FitzBernard and Joan Aquillion. She had a brother named Bartholomew. She was the older of the two children. She died in 1306.2

ROBERT Burghersh, son of REYNOLD Burghersh of Burghersh, Sussex, Chiddingstone, Kent & his wife --- (-[2 Jul/8 Oct] 1306).¬â ·ÄúRobert de Burghesshe·Äù petitioned for property ·Äú60 acres of land in Westhamme within the liberty of the Cinque Ports·Äù bought ·Äúof the barony of L·ÄôAigle then in the hands of Peter de Sabaudia·Äù, bought by ·ÄúHerbert de Burghesshe his grandfather·Äù and which after his death passed to ·ÄúJohn his son and heir·Äù, and after his death to ·ÄúReginald brother of the said John and father of the petitioner·Äù who was unjustly disseised by ·Äúthe said Peter·Äù, recorded in a commission to Walter de Gloucester dated 4 Apr 1299[923].¬â He was summoned to Parliament in 1303 whereby he is held to have become Lord Burghersh.¬â

1.¬â ¬â ¬â ¬â ¬â ¬â ¬â ¬â GUNCELIN de Badlesmere (-before 13 Apr 1301).¬â The Complete Peerage names ·ÄúGuncelin or Gunselm B. of Badlesmere·Ä¶Justice of Chester·Äù as the father of Bartholomew de Badlesmere but does not cite the primary source on which the information is based[62].¬â A writ dated 13 Apr "29 Edw I", after the death ·ÄúGuncelinus de Badlesmere", names as his heir "Bartholomew his son aged 26"[63].¬â m JOAN, daughter of RALPH FitzBernard of Kingsdown, Kent & his wife ---.¬â She is not named in her husband·Äôs inquisition, suggesting that she predeceased him.¬â Guncelin & his wife had two children:¬â

iii)¬â ¬â ¬â ¬â ¬â ¬â ¬â ELIZABETH de Badlesmere ([1313]-after 31 May 1356).¬â A manuscript narrating the foundation of Wigmore Abbey records that ·ÄúEdmundum primogenitum·Äù, son of ·ÄúRoger comes et Johanna uxor eius·Äù, married ·ÄúElizabetham filiam domini Bartholomei·Ä¶de Badelesmere et de Ledys·Äù[72].¬â A manuscript which narrates the descents of the founders of Lanthony Abbey records the marriage of ·ÄúWillielmus de Bohun·Äù, son of ·ÄúHumfredus octavus·Äù, and ·ÄúElizabetham filiam domini Bartholomei de Badlesmere·Äù, previously married to ·Äúdomino Edmundo de Mortuomari·Äù[73].¬â The will of "Elizabeth de Bohun Countess of Northampton", dated 31 May 1356 and made ·Äúwith the leave of my husband·Äù, chose burial ·Äúin the quire of the church of the Friars Preachers, London·Äù, bequeathed property to ·ÄúHumphrey my son...Elizabeth my daughter...my sister the Countess of Oxford...my sister Roos...Agnes Devereux, John Avenell, Richard Waldegrave·Äù[74].¬â m firstly (Earnwood, Kinlet 27 Jun 1316) EDMUND [II] Mortimer, son of ROGER [V] de Mortimer Lord Mortimer [later Earl of March] & his wife Joan de Geneville [Joinville] (-Stanton Lacy 16 Dec 1331).¬â Lord Mortimer 1331.¬â m secondly (licence 1335) WILLIAM de Bohun, son of HUMPHREY [VIII] de Bohun Earl of Hereford and Essex & his wife Elizabeth of England (Caldecot [1312]-16 Sep 1360, bur Walden Abbey, Essex).¬â Earl of Northampton 1337.¬â
