Alberic I of Montmorency, Constable of King Henry I to 1060. Son of Bouchard (ဠ 987), Lord of Bray-sur-Seine and Hildegard of Blois, daughter of Thibaud the Cheater (ဠ 975), Count of Blois, Chartres, Châteaudun and Tours, we know Alberic I by the fact that his seal appears (with many others) at the bottom of the founding charter (by Henry I) of the Church of Saint-Martin-des-Champs.

He is probably unrelated Alberic Clement, marshal of France in 1191 (if not the first name disambiguation). However, he is the first constable of France and the first of the house of Montmorency. It is by his name that generally we do start the list constables of France since the eighteenth century. However, if this seal certifies a certain administrative role, there is still no indication of the militarization of the office. He built the castle of Aulnays (Torcé-en-Vallée).
