ARNOUL de Hesdin (-Antioch [1098]). "Ernulph de Hesding" donated the manor and church of Ruislip, Middlesex to the abbey of Bec[566]. A manuscript which lists donations to Gloucester St Peter includes a record of the donation by "Ernulphus de Hesdyng", confirmed by လPatricius de Cadurcis et Matildis uxor eiusဝ, of လecclesiam de Kynermerforde", and the later donation by "Paganus filius Patricii"[567]. A charter of Stephen King of England dated 1138 confirmed donations to Gloucester St Peter including the donation by "Ernulfi de Hesding et Emelina uxoris eius" of လecclesiam de Nortuna"[568]. "ဦErnulfus de Hesding" witnessed the charter dated 27 Jan 1091 under which William II King of England confirmed the status of Bath abbey[569]. The Chronicle of Hyde records that "Ernulfus de Hednith" was unjustly accused of treason but successfully defended himself by trial of battle (dated to [1096] from the context), and left on Crusade and died at Antioch[570]. "Patricius" donated "v hidas terræ de Westona" to Bath St Peter, for the souls of "ဦArnulfi de Hesdingဦ", by charter dated 14 Sep 1100[571].
m EMMELINE, daughter of ---. A manuscript which lists donations to Gloucester St Peter includes a record of the donation in 1125 by "Robertus filius Walteri et Avelina uxor eius" of "ecclesiam de Nortone", donated earlier by "Elmelina mater Avelinæ"[572]. A charter of Stephen King of England dated 1138 confirmed donations to Gloucester St Peter including the donation by "Ernulfi de Hesding et Emelina uxoris eius" of လecclesiam de Nortuna"[573]. Arnoul & his wife had three children:
a) ARNOUL [Ernulf] de Hesdin (-killed 1138). Orderic Vitalis records that Ernulf de Hesdin was avunculus of "William fitz Alan castellan and vicecomes of Shrewsbury" and was hanged by King Stephen after the battle of Shrewsbury in 1138[574].

A manuscript which lists donations to Gloucester St Peter includes a record of the donation by "Ernulphus de Hesdyng", confirmed by ·ÄúPatricius de Cadurcis et Matildis uxor eius·Äù, of ·Äúecclesiam de Kynermerforde"[575]. m PATRICK de Chaources, son of PATRICK de Chaources & his wife --- (-after 1133).
c) ADELINE [Aveline] (-after 1126). လAlanus filius Flaaldi et Adelina uxor meaဝ donated property to Castle Acre Priory by undated charter[576]. Her parentage is confirmed by Orderic Vitalis who records that Ernulf de Hesdin was avunculus of "William fitz Alan castellan and vicecomes of Shrewsbury"[577]. Eyton states that Dugdale intimates that "Dame Adeliza" who donated land at Wolston to Burton abbey, by charter dated to before 1114, was Alan FitzFlaad´s widow and the mother of "Sibil" who with her husband Roger de Freville confirmed her mother´s donation by charter dated 1132[578]. She married secondly Robert FitzWalter of Caen[579].
