They got married on July 19, 1883 at Harrison, Boone County, Arkansas, he was 26 years old.

'Charles used to load his wagon with apples and drive to Oklahoma,
selling his applies along the way. Took camping equipment with him and
camped along the trail. This was before Oklahoma became a state, it was
all Indian Territory before that. About the time that statehood was
declared, he moved his family there. He died there in Locust Grove and
