She and husband William Ragan came to the Warm Fork, Oregon County, Missouri area abt 1830, where she resided the rest of her years until her death. This area is near Mammoth Spring, Fulton County, Arkansas and the present day town of Thayer in Oregon County, Missouri. They thought they were in Arkansas only to find out years later that they were actually in Missouri. She resided in this area all her adult years until her death in 1904. A historical account of her life was written by a great granddaughter and published in the Oregon County Times years after her death. Description: The family of Matilda Evans, Ragan, Allen, Blue. Matilda "Granny Blue" was born in Caney Creek, Fentress, Tennessee in 1813. Matilda along with first husband William Ragan moved from Tennessee around 1839 to the Warm Fork area of Oregon County, Missouri. Husband William Ragan and William Allan and some of her children are buried in the Mammoth Springs State park Spring City cemetery. This virtual cemetery is dedicated to her memory. She was a pioneer woman of the Ozarks. The communities of Thayer and Mammoth Springs made a proclamation on November 16 as "Granny Blue Day". This date is when she married William Blue her last husband. Thereby forever after being referred to as "Granny Blue". Granny Blue left many descendants. She would have a total of ten children and five of those children married and had children. 1. Mary Ann Polly Ragan Lindley Hogan, 2. Caroline Ragan, Hogan, Sturgeon, Mansfield, Lane, 3. Thomas Benton Ragan, 4. Perlina Allen Tunstall and 5. Napoleon Bonoparte Allen would marry and have children. Her father and some of her siblings came to Lawrence County Arkansas around the same time she and William Ragan moved. I have tried to include as many descendants as possible and if anyone believes they should be included please contact me.
