GLIDDEN

Funeral service for Jeffery Scott Turner, 42, of Glidden, will be 10 a.m. Monday, Nov. 16, 2009, at First United Methodist Church in Glidden. The Rev. Jessica Rockhold will officiate.

Mr. Turner died unexpectedly Thursday, Nov. 12, at Mercy Medical Center in Des Moines.

Visitation will be held from 5 to 8 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 15, at Dahn and Woodhouse Funeral Home in Glidden. The casket will be moved to the church at 8 a.m. Monday to lie in state until the time of service.

Burial will be in Merle Hay Memorial Cemetery near Glidden.

Casket bearers will be Tony Janssen, Butch Weber, Tom Weber, Chad Klocke, Mike Klocke and Dan Seil.

A son of Robert John and Jane (Stuhr) Turner, he was born Nov. 7, 1967, at Carroll. He grew up in Glidden, graduating from Glidden- Ralston High School in 1987. He was employed by Scranton Manufacturing, and he also worked with his dad at Turner Repair in Glidden.

In his spare time, he enjoyed hunting, fishing, vehicles of all kinds and doing creative metalworking.

Survivors include his parents, John Turner of Glidden and Jane Ankrum and husband Will of Washta; two sons: Michael Neville and girlfriend, Jessica Arentsen and his mother, Tammi Neville of Omaha, Neb. and Jaron Turner and his mother Jenny Gustoff of Scranton; a brother, Johnny Turner and girlfriend Christina Irwin of Bloomington, Minn.; a sister, Joni Halsema and husband Jamie of Williamsport, Ind.; his maternal grandmother, Mildred Stuhr of Carroll; his paternal grandmother, Dorothy M. Miller of Carroll; and three nieces: Jordan, Jaden and Jayci.

Mr. Turner was preceded in death by his maternal grandfather, Amos Stuhr; his paternal grandfather, Harold A. Turner; and an uncle, Don Stuhr.
