Tossenberger Mária 1946-ban meghalt tüdőbajban. (Nagyon szeretett bálba járni és egyszer hazafelé megfázott és tüdőgyulladást kapott. Ezután azt hitték, hogy csak megfázott, és a tüdőgyulladását nem kezelték. Valószínűleg ennek szövődményeként TBC-és lett, ami akkor halálos betegség volt. 3-szor járt Amerikában a szüleinél hajóval, ezért nevezték "Amerikai Márinak" is. Már akkoriban modern, egybe szabott ruhákban járt. Már megvoltak az emigrációhoz szükséges iratok, amikor TBC-és lett és meghalt.) Schopper István, Schopper András féltestvére, a II. v.h.-ban meghalt Oroszországban. A feleségét, Reile Máriát 1947-ben kitelepítették (Nyugat-)Németországba, Jakab fiával együtt. A táborból megszöktek, Linzig gyalog, Linztől Bécsig vonattal jöttek. Hazaérve Schopper András elvette Reile Máriát.
