Notes about Patrick O'Keefe

Patrick O'Keefe is the (Great-Great-Great-Grandfather) of Paddy Elizabeth O'Keefe.

THE O'KEEFES of IRELAND

I have found various O'Keefe families of Cork County, Ireland related to the O'Keefe, Manning, Kennedy, Fitzgerald, Connelly, and Hogan families through various marriages of (O'Keefe Branches). Most of the O'Keefes found in Elmira, New York came from CORK COUNTY, IRELAND. There was a William O'Keefe in the same area of Elmira, New York who was in the Military from Cork County, Ireland. He may have been a relative. There are also (O'Keefe branches in Donnegal, Ireland). There is also a James O'Keefe b. 1819 in CLAIRE COUNTY, IRELAND, and immigrated to the Brockville, CANADA who married Julia Kelly. (That is another O'KEEFE Branch). There is also a Dr. Patrick Joseph O'Keefe whose parents were from County Claire in Ireland. He was a Physician in Michigan and also lived in Canada and Oconto, Wisconsin married Elizabeth Hoeffel.

Patrick O'Keefe born March 1818 migrated to America in 1850 to New York. He resided in Ogden, Monroe, New York and also Elmira, New York. Included, Champaign County, Illinois where he passed on in 1901.
