15. marts 1943 sognepræst på Anholt. 7. maj 1745 sognepræst Svenstrup. 1. juni 1763 -1783 konstitueret provst Als Nørre Herred.
Da MHT kom til Svenstrup fra det "fæle og enligtliggende sted" Anholt. led haan af skørbug, som helbredtes her.
Gift 17. juli 1743 i Søegaard med Petronelle Lorentzdatter Øegaard født i Sorå 1. september 1714, død 20. april 1793. Forældre: Stadskirurg i Sorø Lorentz Jensen Øegaard og Sophie Cathrine Rojum.
Fader til sognepræst i Sakskøbing Hans P. Tostrup. Svigerfar til sognepræst i Kliplev J.N. Klincker og sognepræst i Karlebo O.J. Huulegaard.
