Notes about William Benjamin Sims

I am a DNA match to descendants of John Thomas Sims. In the 1850 Monroe Co KY census, the wife of William B Sims is listed as Sarah (b. 1827) in NC. There is a one year old named John in the household also. Could the wife listed as "Sarah" simply be a mistake. Is this really Mary Fleming? The White River Historical Quarterly Vol 3 No 1 Winter 1967-68 also lists John Thomas Sims as the son of Mary Fleming. If anyone has any information on this please contact me.
