    LifeSketch: John married Mary Emaline Bond on July 19,1867 in Doddridge County, West Virginia. John served with his brother Thomas in the Civil War as a Union Soldier serving in Co C, 6th Wv Infantry. In a newspaper article it says that John was one on ten Doddridge County Civil War Veterans who traveled to Gettysburg in June 1913 to attend the 50th Anniversary of the Battle of Gettysburg. He moved to Doddridge County between 1900 - 1910 . The rest of the time he lived his entire life in Tyler County, WV. John's parents were William Pratt born 1794 and Martha Underwood born 1806. All of Mary and John's children are listed on Mary's page. John was an excellent farmer in Mc Elroy District. The photos of the kids are his and Mary's children.idge County Roots)
