Eén van deze kinderen was David Maarschalk de vader van Gerarda Jacoba Gesina Maarschalk die later op Vlieland is komen wonen.
Coenraad had in Nederlands Indië een scheepvaart bedrijf.

Ook heeft hij als 1e stuurman gevaren op de bark "Martina Johanna" en "Tjerrimai"
Daarna werd Willem Blom leraar aan de praktijk school der Zeevaartkunde op Vlieland.
