Notes about Przemysl II. van Polen

Przemysl II (Posen, 1257 - Rogozno, 1296), uit het geslacht der Piasten, was de jongste zoon van hertog Przemysl I van Groot-Polen en Elisabeth van Silezië. Premislaw was zijn oom hertog Boleslaw de Vrome in Groot-Polen opgevolgd in 1279. Tijdens zijn tussenkomst in de Silezische burgeroorlog, werd hij in 1281 gevangengenomen en verloor hij Ruda. Hendrik IV van Polen duidde hem aan als zijn opvolger en in 1295 werd hij door paus tot koning van Polen benoemd en hetzelfde jaar door de aartsbisschop van Gniezno gekroond. Op terugtocht van Häschern werd hij vermoord door aanhangers van Brandenburg.

Przemyslaw trouwde met:

Lutgard van Mecklenburg (-1283), dochter van hertog Hendrik I van Mecklenburg, in 1275

Richeza van Zweden, dochter van koning Waldemar I van Zweden, in 1285

Margaretha van Brandenburg, dochter van markgraaf Albrecht III van Brandenburg (-1315),

en werd vader van:

Elisabeth Richezza, die in 1303 huwde met koning Wenceslaus II van Bohemen (1271-1305) en in 1306 met Rudolf III van Oostenrijk(-1307).
