I have a file on your gggftr Dolgorukov. I read many years-worth of his personal reports to Emperor Alexander II in Russian Archives.  I quote some comments you might find interesting.

1859  Looking back over the yeaR 1858, two main problems were defining themselves.  Although neither had yet resultede in political dosorders, each represented a serious threat to orderly reform: "the transformation of peasant life and public opinion.

Agents of the Tsar were dispatched to stake out the major market fairs in 1860, listening for rumbles of discontent along the artery of national trade

DlgVA's vision of odern history, and Russia's place in it, provided the foundation for his report -2.  In a remarkable brief essay of modern Revolution in his report for the year 1860, he asserted that "all of the destructive plots in Europe" over the previous 30 years stemmed from a revolutionary conspiracy.  Here he wrote about the influence of Young Italy, and Manzanizezini on Young Germany and Young Poland.  The Emperor was in this way well prepared to put the future proclamation Young Russia in the proper global perspective .Despite vigorous efforts to control this contagion, Felix Pyater, Martin Bernard, Pierre Leroux, Hgo V, a list of pst, tpgers, journalists with several other communists put down roots in FRN soil.  They have achieved organizational existence in exile.  Foe example the Commune revolutionnaire or "Marianne" flourished.  Dolgoroukov was alert to the earliest stirring of the "International Union" there, dedicated to the spread of revolutionary socialism and concentrated in a "Central Committee of European Democrats." Alexander Herzen's membership in these conspiracies was, of course, particularly significant.
