Notes about George Talbot

Elizabeth I of England, put Mary, Queen of Scots into the custody of George and his wife, Bess Hardwick. For fifteen years, the Earl and the Countess housed and cared for Mary. But it was to the detriment of their marriage. The Countess even spread rumors that George was having an affair with Mary. Sadly, the couple separated around 1580.
