Notes about Gerrit van Tintelen
Volgens het politierapport kwam Gerrit van Tintelen, een 14-jarige scholier uit Dodewaard, op 3 november 1944 in Nijmegen om het leven als gevolg van een ongeval, waarbij zijn benen werden verbrijzeld. Hij was, aldus dat rapport, rond 10:30 uur in de Van Schevichavenstraat, op de hoek bij het postkantoor, aangereden door een Engelse of Amerikaanse motor. Waarschijnlijk is die vermelding onjuist. Want uit het dagboek van zijn oudste broer in Dodewaard blijkt dat Gerrit daar op 2 november al op een mijn getrapt is, en ondanks snel transport naar Nijmegen nog diezelfde dag in het Canisiusziekenhuis kwam te overlijden.
