Hans Marinus Ort trouwt op 31 juli 1956 te Heemstede met Eleonora Francisca Determeyer (Elly), geboren 9 september 1927 te Batavia.
Elly was van huis uit Rooms Katholiek. In die tijd mocht een Rooms Katholiek niet met een anders denkende (geloof) in de RK Kerk trouwen, maar werd getrouwd in de Consistoriekamer van de RK Kerk aan de Kerklaan te Heemstede. De kinderen werden Rooms Katholiek opgevoed. Zij kregen vier kinderen. Na het overlijden van Elly in 1995, ontmoette Hans in 1998 in de Marineclub te Den Helder , Gerda Abbenhuis/Keybets , geboren 8 december 1935. te Arnhem. Zij was een weduwe van Ton Abbenhuis , een marine- officier van de Technische Dienst. Ze maakten samen weer wat van hun leven en deden gezellige dingen samen. In 1999 begonnen zij een LAT- relatie. Beiden hadden een eigen woning, Gerda in Den Helder - Hans in Julianadorp, een dorp Zuid van Den Helder. In 2005 verhuisde Gerda naar Bilthoven en sindsdien wordt hun tijd, voor een groot gedeelte samen doorgebracht, of wel te Bilthoven of wel te Den Helder (Julianadorp). Gerda heeft één zoon uit haar huwelijk met Ton Abbenhuis. Op 16 november kwam door de dood van Hans een einde aan de gelukkige jaren die hij met Gerda had genoten ! Gerda heeft een heel positieve invloed op het leven van Hans gehad.

Hans Marinus Ort deed in 1949 eindexamen HBS B/Christelijk Lyceum te Haarlem/ en werd in 1949 adelborst Zeedienst, in 1954 Ltz.III,1955 Ltz.II, 1957 Ltz.II o.c., 1964 Ltz.I, 1973 Kapt.ltz., 1977 Kaptz., 1978 Commandeur en in 1982 eervol ontslag uit de actieve dienst.Hans is respectievelijk commandant geweest op de onderzeeboten Hr.Ms. Walrus en Hr.Ms.Tonijn, voorts van de bovenwaterschepen Hr.Ms. Van Nes en Hr.Ms. Zuiderkruis. Eindigde aan de wal als Chef Staf van de Commandant Zeemacht te den Helder. Na de actieve militaire dienst trad Hans in dienst bij het RSV (Rijn Schelde Verolme) - concern als adviseur van de directie, administratief ondergebracht bij NEVESBU, een onderdeel van RSV. Na de val van RSV, trad hij in dienst bij de RDM ( de onderzeeboot-bouw werf) , eveneens in de functie van adviseur van de directie. In 1992 stopte hij met dit werk. In Oktober 1993 werd Hans lid van de commissie onderzoek naar de identiteit van een onderzeeboot, die waarschijnlijk de Hr.Ms. O 22 kon zijn. Uit het onderzoek werd inderdaad vastgesteld dat het om de onderzeeboot van zijn vader ging!Het onderzoek werd afgesloten op 18 april 1994. Voor de juiste lokatie zie bij zijn vader Johan Willem Ort, commandant Hr.Ms. O 22. Hans Marinus Ort schreef het boek Hr.Ms.O 22, uitgegeven in 1995, hierin ondermeer opgenomen uittreksels uit de brieven van zijn vader aan zijn moeder in oorlogstijd. Voorts de wijze van het onderzoek, de vermoedelijke aanleiding tot de ramp en de wijze van vaststelling van de identiteit.
Een foto na het afscheid van Hank als Schout bij Nacht werd gemaakt op 23 mei 2013, tijdens een gezellig samenzijn in de Marineclub georganiseerd door Hans en Gerda, van Hans met de zonen van Robert, Ruud en Huib, zijn zoon Peter en schoonzoon Charles. Evenals een foto van Ruud en Huib rechts en links met de dochter van Hans, Marina en zoons Peter en Coen.
