George Marinus Cornelis Ort en Albertina Gerbendina Dieuwertje Schrok kregen drie zoons. Albertine Gerbendina Dieuwertje Schrok was van een tweeling. Haar tweeling-zus was Anna Maria Lucia Schrok (eerst geborene 20-01-1871), die trouwde met Conrad Henri Jean Charles Entzinger (1865-1909). De tweeling zus Anna Maria Lucia Schrok is 6 jaar later op 17 maart 1948 overleden te den Haag (bron advertentie). De tweeling had nog drie jongere zusjes. In het Centraal Bureau voor Genealogie te den Haag werd een notitie gevonden over de herkomst van de naam Schrok (Skrok). Bij Oosterend (Gem.Hennaarderadeel) ligt een zeer oud boerengehucht "Skrok". In het Fries werd gezegd : "Hy wennet op Skrok". Volgens overlevering zou er in de buurt van Sneek een grote boerenhofstede omstreeks 1939 zijn afgebrand waar boven op het grote ijzeren toegangshek "Schrok State"stond. Bij het dorpje Nyhuizen (niet ver van Makkum) lagen "De Skrok poelen"ook Nyhuizumer poelen genaamd. (Kleine meertjes, nu waarschijnlijk droog).
Gerben Rintjeszoon, geboren omstreeks 1772 in Friesland en overleden omstreeks 1819 in Oost Indië op 47 jarige leeftijd, was van beroep zeevaarder. In 1811 (Napoleon) nam hij de naam Schrok aan, vermoedelijk foutieve spelling van het Friese woord Skrok. Hij liet zijn naam Schrok inschrijven met de gedachte dat het toch maar voor korte tijd was (alleen de Franse bezetting). De naam Schrok/Skrok in het Fries betekende : a. erg droog. b. inhalig, vrekkig. c. schor (van stem). d. hongerig (hongerlyer). Op welke betekenis de naam Schrok is terug te leiden is thans moeilijk na te gaan!

Notes about George Marinus Cornelis (G1) Ort

George Marinus Cornelis (G1) was Kapitein Infanterie Oost Indisch Leger (KNIL). Ging vervroegd met pensioen, waarschijnlijk in verband met de studie van de drie jongens en zijn gezondheid. In Nederland woonde het gezin eerst in Rotterdam, maar het laatst Thomsonplein 15, te 's- Gravenhage. Zie foto.
Opa Ort was vaak ziek en kwakkelde met zijn gezondheid. Hij was een stille , ietwat nerveuze persoonlijkheid. Speelde altijd met zíjn vestzak-horloge en sleutels. Hij droeg altijd een jasje, vest, stropdas met bij passende broek, meestal donker van kleur. Niemand had verwacht dat hij zijn echtgenote zou overleven. Na het overlijden van Oma Ort-Schrok op 2 maart 1942 was hij niet goed in staat om voor zich zelf te zorgen. De zuster van Oma Ort-Schrok, tante Annie Volten-Schrok, was reeds eerder weduwe geworden, trok bij Opa Ort in op Thomsonplein 15 te den Haag. Opa Ort ondervond heel veel steun van tante Annie, ze heeft nog altijd een heel warme herinnering bij Robert Gerben Ort (XI. 1.4.3.4.2.2.3.5.3.2.). Ze verving Oma op een voor de kinderen geweldige wijze. Tijdens de oorlog moesten Opa Ort en tante Annie evacueren, Zij vonden tijdelijk onderkomen in Haarlem, Eindenhoutstraat, bij de familie Meyer, die hadden een kledingzaak in de Grote Houtstraat te Haarlem. Na de oorlog gingen zij terug naar Thomsonplein 15 in den Haag. Na de capitulatie van de Jappen in het Voormalig Nederlands Indië en de Bersiap periode kwam de oudste zoon Albert (in 1947) met zijn echtgenote terug naar Nederland. Zij trokken in op Thomsonplein 15, in 1947 . Dit leidde er toe dat tante Annie een andere woonplek ging zoeken en Opa Ort trok (tijdelijk) weer bij de familie Meyer in. Opa Ort kreeg daar diverse hartaanvallen, maar krabbelde steeds weer op. Opa Ort keerde begin 1948 weer terug op Thomsonplein 15, alwaar hij op 21 mei 1948 is overleden.
