      Het aantal gerapporteerde en in deze verzameling opgenomen sterfgevallen voor de jaren 1970 en 1971 ligt ver onder de verwachte aantallen en dit is waarschijnlijk te wijten aan een toename van de naleving van de voorschriften door de plaatselijke Franse kantoren die in deze twee jaren sterfgevallen aan het INSEE meldden. In deze verzameling blijkt het aantal gerapporteerde sterfgevallen voor 1970 slechts ongeveer 8% van het werkelijke aantal te bedragen en voor 1971 is het aantal ongeveer 50% van het werkelijke aantal. In 1972 werd een bijna volledige rapportage gerealiseerd in heel Frankrijk en zijn territoria.

      Terwijl de meeste geboorte- en overlijdensplaatsen in Frankrijk liggen, zijn er meer dan 2,5 miljoen records in deze verzameling van personen die in andere landen zijn geboren of gestorven -- met buurlanden en buurlanden (zoals België, Duitsland, Spanje, Italië en Polen) en landen die voormalige Franse koloniën waren (zoals Algerije, Marokko, Tunesië, Madagaskar en Vietnam) die het meest voorkomen.
