Hij was koperslager, loodgieter en zinkwerker gevestigd in Heerenveen no:88.
Later werd dit de Nieuwstraat.
Hij werd op 2 maart 1911 failliet verklaard en dat was wellicht de reden waarom zij in 1912 naar Amsterdam verhuisden.(ingeschreven op 11 maart 1912)
Hij ging daar werken op 6-1-1918 bij de Gemeente Gasfabrieken als werkman en ging op 1 -1-1941 werken voor het energiebedrijf (GEB) tot aan zijn pensioen op 31-12-1949.
