Notes about Arij Johannesz Schelling
Ary Johannesz. Schelling was bij huwelijk "j.m. van Mijnherenlant van Moerkercke, wonende Carnisse". Marrichje Jans Leeuwenburg was "j.d. van West-Barendrecht en wonende aldaar".
Op 26 april 1712 testeerden twee ongehuwde ooms van moederszijde van Ary Jansz Schelling, t.w. Pleun en Paulus Ariensz van der Wilt, op hun boerderij onder Carnisse. Paulus bleek ziek te zijn en zij benoemden de langstlevende van hen beiden tot universeel erfgenaam. Na overlijden van de langstlevende zou hun neef Ary Jansz Schelling universeel erfgenaam zijn. Uit deze beschikking moet wel blijken dat de gebroeders tot de rijke boerenstand behoorden. Pouwels en Pleun leefden respectievelijk nog twee en tien jaar en hun stoffelijk overschot werd door neef Ary Schelling voor de gaarder van West-Barendrecht en Carnisse aangegeven (Bron: De Nederlandsche Leeuw, december 1991 nr. 12).
