Het kapelletje aan de Molenweg is gebouwd door Frans Nicolaus Hoffmans, die tot de eerste kerkmeesters van de parochie behoorde, en van wie werd gezegd dat hij nog in het leger van Napoleon gediend had. Het kapelletje is dus uit de 19e eeuw. Het oude Maria beeld is verdwenen en het huidige beeld is van jongere datum (pag 38 boekje parochie Koningsbosch).

Frans Nicolaus Hoffmans had zitting in de fabriekraad, die aan het hoofd stond bij de oprichting van een parochie of rectoraat (de z.g. Kerkfabriek). Hij wordt genoemd bij de oprichting van de fabrieksraad 11 maart 1862, zoals benoemd door de bisschop, samen met Andries Stoffels en Aloisius (Louis) van Kan. Andries Stoffels werd als voorzitter gekozen en Jan Papen was de secretaris. (zie blz 13 boekje parochie Koningsbosch).


In de eerste fabrieksraad hadden voorts zitting, pastoor P. Kelleners, Christiaan Reijnen (burgemeester van Echt), Jacob Stoffels en Frans Nicolaus Hoffmans (beide laatste beneomd door de comissaris van de koning). Uit hun midden waren de kerkmeesters Frans Hoffmans, Jacob Stoffels en Jan Papen. Frans Hoffmans was voorzitter van de kerkmeesters.
