Piet Postma [1920-2004]: "Willem Sentenie was enig kind van oom Bertus en tante Anna, die in Volendam, dacht ik, geboren en getogen is. Ik weet dat het vissersdorp helemaal versierd was toen Pater Willem, redemptorist, priester was gewijd op 28 september 1932 te Wittem en daarna in Volendam, de Eerste H. Mis opdroeg.
Pater Willem was misweek- en veertig-uurgebed predikant. Ook in het retraitehuis in Amersfoort heeft hij jaren 'retraites' gegeven, o.a. voor jonge mannen die onder dienst moesten. Zelf heb ik wel driemaal zo'n retraite meegemaakt. Vooral de preken van Pater Willem waren extreem humoristisch, en daardoor was hij overal zeer geliefd."
