Notes about Bertha Augusta van Aerde

Na een gelukkig huwelijksleven van 56 jaren, waarvan zij de laatste 10 jaren echter te kampen had met een geduldig gedragen zwakke gezondheid, kwam het einde van haar leven als een bevreiding. In een groot Paasgeloof en ook in een grote dankbaarheid bereidde zij zich in de laatste Goede Week bewust voor op het einde van haar leven! Pasen was háár dag! Als trrost voor hen, die achtrblijven, spreekt juist in deze paastijd nadrukkelijker dan anders het woord van Christus: "Ik ben de verrijzenis van het leven. Die in Mij gelooft, al is men gestorven, zal leven in eeuwigheid!"
Bertha en Clement runden een kleine supermarkt aan de Kerkstraat te Sluiskil. Welke weer later werd gerund door twee van hun ongehuwde dochters Erna en Marie.
Bertha overleed op 2e Paasdag in het Sint Elisabeth ziekenhuis te Sluiskil.
De plechtige uitvaartdienst werd gehouden in de parochiekerk Heilige Anthonius van Padua te Sluiskil, waarna de begrafenis plaatsvond op de Rooms Katholieke begraafplaats aldaar.
