Jan Pieterze Colijn werd gedoopt op 24 januari 1677 te Lisse. Hij werd begraven op 20 februari 1742 te Noordwijk.

Jan was een zoon van Pieter Cornelisse Cole/Colen, gedoopt op 26 februari 1640 te Wassenaar, en van Jaepie Leenders van der Codde, geboren omstreeks 1645 (Jan Pieterze Colijn noemt zijn eerste dochter, in 1703, ook Jaapje).

Pieter Cornelisse Colen was een zoon van Cornelis Pietersz Cool/Coling, geboren omstreeks 1605 te Lisse, en van Maertje Sijmonsz, geboren omstreeks 1605 te Noordwijkerhout. Het paar trouwde op 30 mei 1629 te Noordwijkerhout.

Cornelis Pietersz Coling was een zoon van Pieter Pouwelsz Coling, geboren omstreeks 1580 te Lisse, overleden in of omstreeks 1625, en van Grietgen Cornelis, geb omstreeks 1570 te Lisse.

Pieter Pouwelsz Coling was een zoon van Pouwel Reijne Brouckhuijsen aen de Beeck, geboren omstreeks 1550, die te Lisse woonde, en van Magteld Pieters Coling.

Je ziet dus dat Cornelis Pietersz Coling niet de familienaam van zijn vader overnam, maar die van zijn moeder, hetgeen vroeger wel eens vaker voorkwam.

Magteld Pieters Coling was een dochter van Pieter Pietersz Coling, geboren omstreeks 1520 te Lisse. Deze laatste Pieter zal dus ook een vader 'Pieter Coling', geboren omstreeks 1490 hebben gehad, maar die is (nog) niet gevonden, en dus houdt hier de stamboom voorlopig op.

Wellicht is er een link te vinden met een uitgebreide familie Colijn uit de buurt van Dussen (N-Br), Babyloniënbroek en Almkerk. Uit die familie stamt de bekende minister-president Hendrikus Colijn.
