    Op 30 december hebben we, vanuit de Dijnselburgkapel, afscheid genomen van Antonius Wilhelmus de Groot. Ton begon zijn opleiding op het klein seminarie maar ging daarna naar het gymnasium. Later volgde de studie medicijnen. Hij werd een gedreven gynaecoloog en werkte hard en lang. Ongeveer 25 jaar geleden moest Ton stoppen met werken vanwege reuma. Zijn handen wilden niet meer. Maar de werklust was er nog. Al die daadkracht vond een nieuwe uitweg en Ton ging bridgen. Daarnaast was hij ook actief in verschillende commissies. Tot het echt niet meer kon en Ton naar het hospice ging. Daar heeft hij het sacrament van de zieken mogen ontvangen.
    Op eerste kerstdag overleed hij, in alle rust, bijna 74 jaar oud. Ons medeleven gaat uit naar zijn vrouw, zijn familie en vrienden. Gedenken wij hem in onze gebeden.
