Notes about Peter Snoke

According to Obituary of son, Fredrick Amos Snoke, Peter and Ellen Snoke had nine children, four girls and 5 boys.
3/4/94 WRHS: - Father & Mother both born in Pennsylvania.
(1900 Census) - Could speak, but not read or write English.
- Owned home (not a farm) free & clear (no mortgage).
- In June of 1900, when Census was taken, members of Peters
household included...
Peter "Snook", age 77
Ellen " age 68, Wife
Amos " age 30, Son (widowed)
Etta " age 27, Daughter
Clara " age 2, Grandaughter (Amos' daughter)

- Although the Census spells the surname "Snook", Amos's published
obituary spells the name "Snoke". Since Peter could not read
or write and Census Enumerators often spelled phonetically,
I have assumed the correct spelling of the surname is
"Snoke".
