Child(ren):
He was like his father and his father-in-law an organist in Bergen op Zoom 1776-1782, an organist in Zutphen 1782 – 1789. He teached music to his brother in law Jan Louis Freubel.
He left on August 7, 1789 from Zutphen to New-York. They settled in Boston in September 1796, taking the name Von Hagen. He was also a music dealer and publisher, also conducted a theater orchestra. He was organist at the Stone Chapel from 1798 to 1803. His son, Peter Albrecht Von Hagen Jr. took over as musician and composer. Elisabeth composed herself, and it is sometimes difficult to attribute certain pieces to the father, the mother or the son.
He composed an opera ballad, The Adopted Child, or The Baron of Milford Castle (1797) and several incidental or theater music, such as The Battle of Hexham (1797) - Columbus, or The Discovery of America (1800) - Zorinski , or Freedom to the Stones (1797). We also owe him Funeral Dirge for George Washington (1799), a Federal Overture (1797) and songs and marches.
