Born at 327 Locust St., Davenport Iowa, home of Daly grandparents next door to parents' home. Moved to 1111 Brady St (parents bought the apartment house) when she was 7 years old. Graduated from Davenport High School 1924 and enrolled in Cornell Collage, Mt. Vernon, Iowa. After two years there, completed education in Library Science at the University of Iowa in Iowa City, Iowa and then became a Children's Librarian at Davenport Public Library. She remained in this job until her marriage.
Married at the Brady St address and lived there in an upstairs apartment. Also lived at Algona and Cherokee, Iowa, for a few years until the family settled in Mason City, Iowa. In 1954 moved to Iowa City, Iowa. After death of husband, moved in 1988 initially to home of daughter in West Des Moines, and within two months moved to an apartment at Wesley Acres Retirement Community, 3520 Grand Ave., Des Moines, where she lived at time of death. Called "Nana Kay" by her descendants.
