Brother Philippus and Johannes Abraham study in Leiden as ministers and are ordained for duty in the Cape in 1776. Johannes arrives in the Cape first, in 1777 on the ship "De Jonge Lieve". He becomes minister in Land van Waveren (Tulbagh) and then Cape Town from 1799
