VOGEL JACOB (S). – Sachsenhausen. Arr. 1688 as adelborst, b. in the same year, a shoemaker. X 1.7.1703 Catharina Hartz of Hamburg, wid. Burchard Brand (q.v.). † 1720. (V.C. 56; Test. CJ 1164: 77; Test. O.C. 2: 130 and 4: 12; CJ 1125: 157-159, 167). Jacob Vogel is said to have built the beautiful Dutch house “Stellenberg”, at Claremont, on an erf which was given to him by Simon v.d. Stel in 1697.
