Johannes BLANKENBERG kom by die Kaap aan as "n soldaat in 1700. Hy was die seun van Joachim Blankenberg en Maria Litszmann. Hy trou in Kaapstad op die 3 Januarie 1706 met Catharina BAUMANN, dogter van Heinrich Bauman en Gertrud Witt.

Hy was "n soldaat in 1701, in 1703 word hy "n korporaal en vanaf 1705 tot 1708 was hy "n siektrooster. Hy het ook gedien op die Burgerraaden Weeskamer. Valentijn op besoek aan die Kaap maak melding van "een deftig maal, waarby een zeer fraey muzycq van stemmen en instrumenten gevoegd werd, by"t welke eenen Blankenberg zeer fraey zong".Blankenberg het die slaaf Christiaan van Trankebar besit, en het hom later vrygestel.
