Hy was eers 'n bediende vir Jacques de Savoye, en later 'n timmerman en getroud in 1687 met Maria VITOUT . Hy het hom gevestig op La Motte in Drakenstein. Hy is oorlede in 1711. Hulle het 4 kinders gehad:
