Tydens die Anglo-Boereoorlog (1899-1902) was Theunis Frederick Jacobus DREYER (geb 1860) ‘n Boere-kommandant van die ZAR. Hy maak die beleg van Mafeking en verskeie ander gevegte aan die wesgrens mee as gewone burger in die Potchefstroom kommando. Toe Generaal Piet Cronje in Februaarie 1900 oorgee, is hy gelukkig genoeg om te ontvlug. Hy word genoem in die slag van Abrahamskraal. Na die besetting van Pretoria word hy veldkornet en daarna kommandant. Hy veg by Rustenburg, Klerksdorp en Potchefstroom. Na Augustus 1901 gaan hy saam met genl JC Smuts na Kaapland. Hy word op 28 September in die Suid-Vrystaat na ‘n geveg gevange geneem en na Indie gestuur. Vanaf 1920 tot 1924 was hy LV vir Losberg.
