Lawson, Ph.B., B.D., "History and Genealogy of the Descendants of Clement Corbin of Muddy River (Brookline) Mass. and Woodstock, Conn.", 1905, pp. 107 #130; 188 #287 "BENJAMIN CORBIN (David, Asahel, Benjamin, Jabez, Clement), of Union, Conn., b. Oct. 20, 1794; m. Maria Potter, dau. of Silas Potter of Ashford, June 2, 1830. She was b. April 3, 1804.He was for many years a prominent and well-known citizen of Union. He was entrusted with many town offices, and performed his duties faithfully, being a man of strict integrity. He represented the town in the legislature six times, between 1828 and 1840. He was a member and deacon of the Baptist Church at North Ashford. He was a man of strong convictions of right and wrong, and always wanted to see the right triumph. He d. May 5, 1880. His wife died at Hartford, March 29, 1894, a week after the death of her son William, at the ripe age of ninety. She was a woman of great intelligence, amiable, sympathetic, broad-minded, deeply interested in missions and the welfare of the country."
