    QUAY 3 Declaration for Original Invalid Pension; 19 May 1883; Edward C Mitchell enrolled on 27 Feb 1864 in Company M of the 13 Regiment of Missouri Volunteers commanded by Fred W Beckerand was discharged at Fort Leavenworth Kansas on the 11 ofJanuary 1866; Personal description is Age 48 years, height 5 feet 5 1/2 inches, complexion light, hair light, eyes grey. While a member of the organization in the service and in the line of his duty at Fort Lyons in the State of Colorado on or about the 2nd day of October 1865 he contracted Piles also strain in shoulder caused by saber exercise. Edward had resided in the states of Arkansas and Missouri and his occupation had been that of a farmer. Suffers from Rheumatism, heart disease and Kidney trouble. Edward died 2 Mar 1898 in Bethany, Harrison County, Missouri.
