Hi Cousins,
I finished the George W. Williams list of the mining claims. The list is a chronological compilation of various types of land deals in the Boulder County historical records. Microfiche copies are available at the county records office on any of these documents. The search used five different versions of his name that resulted in a slightly different version of the list in each case. Their were several residents of Boulder County by the name of George Williams during the 1850 to 1920 period. I eliminated any with the wrong middle initial or a distant geographic location. This still leaves a lot of uncertainty with some of the included documents. The documents that I have found a secondary reason to include are in "red" and "Bold" pint. The criteria foe this sub list was; 1) location in sections 27, 28, 33, 34 of T1N, R72W that are adjacent to the homestead at Gordon Gulch. 2) The document was signed by other known family members. 3) The document was signed by George w. William's longtime prospecting partners, Bolus Mitchell and Justus Mitchell. and 4) References in the News paper articles that I copied when I was in the Boulder Library in 2006. I hope this is of interest to some of you. I would be happy to make corrections if their mistakes.

Hi All,
I found an interesting new tidbit tonight! I was looking at the Denver Library Site and came up with the rolls for the First Colorado Territorial Elections held on August 19, 1861.
Under District 2 Precinct 4, Central City (part B) I found "Orvis, H. F. :Qa-198" and "Williams G. W. :Qa-341". This means that they were #198 & #341 out of 643 voters in that precinct.
I think this is earliest date that I have seen for G. W. Williams in Colorado and probably where the two men first Meet. (It is possible that this not our G. W. Williams, but Aunt Effie said that he reenlisted in the Union Army in 1862 from Central City.)
