Notes about Lucia Ann 'Lucy' Broughton

"Lucia Ann Broughton was born to Amos Broughton III and his wife Nancy Timmerman on February 6, 1830. Like her sister Cordelia, Lucia also married into the Cramer family. Lucia married Daniel Cramer. He was born in New York on November 17, 1824 to Conrad and Magdelana Cramer. Lucia Ann would also follow in her sister Cordelia's footsteps and be recorded as an early Swan Township school teacher. Lucia Ann and Daniel would raise a large family which included a total of 13 children: Orpha A., Eldridge D., Orra W., Emma M., Carnelia, Mary E., Annue, Ophelia, Cozelia, Alpheus, Daniel Wilbur, Walter and Maria. Lucia Ann passed away on February 26, 1915 and is buried at Swan Cemetery in Noble County, Indiana."

OBITUARY:
Lucy Sayles died at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Emma Baker Feb. 26, 1915. She was born in New York state Feb. 6, 1830, the daughter of Amos and Nancy (Timmerman) Broughton. She married Daniel Cramer April 4, 1850, and they had 12 children. He died Sept. 1, 1872. She married Ahab Sayles June 23, 1881, and he died Sept. 2, 1908. Surviving are three daughters, Orra Wilson, Anna Cramer, Emma Baker; and a son, Daniel Wilbur Cramer; 8 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren. Burial, Swan Cemetery.
