LUMAN AUSTIN

New Berlin, April 24 - The death of Luman Austin occurred at his home west of this village Monday, April 17, after an illness of about a year. He was born in Hancock, Massachusetts 81 years ago and was a son of Noah Austin and Eliza Corbin.

In 1837 he moved to New Berlin and settled on the Great Brook and had lived there all his life excepting for four years spent in the west. He married Jane Conde of Illinois, who died a few years ago. He had been a farmer most of his life and was esteemed by all who knew him. He is survived by a son, Frank, and a daughter, Mrs. H. E. Hill, and one brother, William Austin of this place, and a sister Miss Augusta Austin residing on Great Brook. Funeral services were held at the home Wednesday and conducted by Rev. C. R. Hickok, pastor of the M. E. church here. Burial was made at South New Berlin.
