A gravemarker for Felix CORBIN is in Milton Cemetery, Berryhill, Santa Rosa County, FL (#26609435) beside his second wife, but according to several news articles, his remains were brought back to Emanuel County, GA, and interred in the Corbin Cemetery.

Felix CORBIN Obituary
Felix CORBIN, the man who was recently prominent in Pensacola and later in Georgia, by reason of the fact that it was he whom the federal government claimed had been deprived of his rights as a citizen by Sheriff Collins of Milton and Sheriff field of Georgia, was assassinated in Milton at an early hour last night. This information first reached Pensacola when the train from the east arrived, and later it was confirmed over the long distance telephone by residents of Milton.
According to these reports, CORBIN, who was at his home, was called to his front door and shot dead, five bullets entering the body and producing almost instant death. When relatives reached him life was extinct and no clue could be obtained as to the assassins.
The assassination occurred early in the night, and it created intense excitement, according to what little information that could be gleaned. Residents of the place showed no disposition to give information relative to the shooting and preferred not to be questioned.

Emanuel County Man Killed in Florida
The remains of Felix CORBIN, who was murdered at Milton Fla. day before yesterday, arrived at Oak Park, in this county, last night, and will be interred in the family burying ground near the old CORBIN homestead.
Many rumors are current as the way that CORBIN came to his death. The most authentic report is that CORBIN was at his home when he was called to the door, and, under cover of darkness, a volley of shots was fired at him, one of them striking him and producing death. Another report is that he was shot down by the sheriff of Santa Rosa in an attempt to arrest him.
It will be remembered that CORBIN who was a former resident of the county, was wanted here for the assault and battery on the persons of Mr. and Mrs. G.A. Thompson and their young daughter. Sheriff Fields, after considerable trouble, located him in Florida, and with requisition papers went to Santa Rosa county to get CORBIN and bring him back to this county for trial. This was about five months ago. CORBIN refused to come, and under a writ of habeas corpus, was given a hearing. The result of this proceeding gave CORBIN his freedom. Sheriff Fields then made affidavit that CORBIN was a fugitive from justice, and Sheriff Collins, of Santa Rosa, re-arrested CORBIN and turned him over to Sheriff Fields, who brought him back here. As soon as he reached this county CORBIN gave bond for his appearance, returned to Florida and issued warrants for both Sheriff Fields and Sheriff Collins in the United States Court. Both officers were arrested and placed under bond.

This was about five months ago. CORBIN refused to come and under a writ of habeas corpus was given a hearing. The result of this proceeding gave CORBIN his freedom. Sheriff Fields then made affidavit that CORBIN was a fugitive from justice and Sheriff Collins of Santa Rosa rearrested CORBIN and turned him over to Sheriff Fields, who brought him back here. As soon as he reached this county CORBIN gave bond for his appearance, returned to Florida and had warrants issued for both Sheriff Fields and Sheriff Collins in the United States Court. Both officers were arrested and placed under bond. Sheriff Fields appeared in federal court in Savannah last week asking that his case be transferred to Georgia. This was not granted and he is now under bond to appear in the United States court in Florida. CORBIN was the chief witness in these cases and it is probable that his death will put an end to this affair.
CORBIN was a son of the late Nelson CORBIN of this county. He is survived by his mother, Mrs. Nancy CORBIN, and a number of brothers. He was 35 years of age and was physically a fine specimen of manhood. He was twice married, his first wife being a Miss Wilkes, sister of B.F. (sic; should be B.B.) Wilkes of this county. His second wife was from Florida, and she and several children survive him.
