      "Uitgever H.B. Heyde
      De firma H.B. Heyde (of Heijde) was in Suriname een van de belangrijkste drukkerijen-uitgeverijen. Heinrich Bernhard Heyde, geboren op 18 mei 1839 in Neusalz an der Oder, was in 1867 als zendeling voor de Evangelische Broedergemeente naar Suriname afgevaardigd en kwam in 1880 in een ernstig conflict met zijn kerk. Na zijn ontslag begon hij, om zich een broodwinning te verschaffen, een drukkerij. Hij beschikte over een steendrukkerij om hoogwaardige lithografieën te vervaardigen. Heyde wwas niet enkel de drukker en uitgever van verschillende dagbladen van protestantse huize, maar heeft ook een reeks boekuitgaven gerealiseerd. Heyde had een breed fonds: bijbelteksten, preken, theologische traktaten, fotoboeken, prentbriefkaarten, feestliederen voor Oranje-vieringen en boeken over de goudwinning, de landbouw en de geschiedenis van Suriname. Maar hij gaf ook een reeks literaire teksten uit. Van 1883 tot 1931 was H.B. Heyde drukker en uitgever van een tiental kranten en een handvol maandbladen, praktisch alle van protestantse signatuur."
