Immatrikuliert an der Uni Paderborn 1694, immatrikuliert an der Uni Löwen 1701, immatrikuliert in Gießen 1707, Dr. jur., Juristische Inaugural-Disputation: "De possessione ut modo acquirendi fructus" gedruckt Duisburg 1716, Rentmeister in Stromberg 30.7.1711-2.10.1716, Amtseid 6.8., am 21.11.1712 teilte der Fürstbischof dem Domkapitel mit, "weylen aber derselbe sich dergestalt auffgeführet, daß sie selbigen zu würcklicher antrettung der bedinung zu admittiren bedencken getragen", dass nunmehr der bisherige Adjunkt oder Substitut Caspar Heinrich Geisberg providiert worden sei. Das Domkapitel erhob Bedenken, da Brandt schon vereidigt worden war. Die Frage löste sich im Oktober 1716, nachdem Brandt als Prokurator beim Reichskammergericht "versehen", also angestellt worden war. Geisberg wurde offiziell zugelassen, wogegen Brandt sich aber am 21.1.1719 beschwerte, da er "unverschuldet" seines Amtes enthoben worden war. Das Domkapitel wußte keinen anderen Ausweg als auf eine gütliche Einigung der beiden zu setzen.
