    Sjoerdje woonde aan het begin van de oorlog in Amsterdam. Zij had daar haar opleiding tot verpleegster afgerond en is daar nog blijven wonen. Hoe zij in Haarlem terecht kwam is onbekend. Zij is later naar Wassenaar verhuisd omdat haar ouders daar woonden en zij daar een baan kon krijgen bij een huisarts in de wijkverpleging. Waarschijnlijk heeft zij in het verzet gezeten of heeft zij in ieder geval veel voor het verzet gedaan. Zeker is dat allemaal niet, daar mevrouw Terpstra nooit over de oorlog sprak. Tijdens de oorlog ging ze regelmatig op de fiets naar Noord-Holland om eten te halen. Na de oorlog heeft zij een tijdje een verhouding gehad met de huisarts waarvoor zij werkte en later is zij boven de praktijk gaan wonen. Ze is nooit getrouwd en had geen kinderen. Ook na haar pensioen is ze blijven doorwerken als wijkverpleegkundige. Omdat ze het leuk vond maar ook omdat ze elke gulden goed kon gebruiken. In 2001 is zij op 93-jarige leeftijd bij een verkeersongeval door een hartaanval om het leven gekomen.
