In 1644 en 1645 voert Thomas Langton, met zoon Robbert als gemachtigde, een rechtszaak tegen Johan van Leeuwen, stadtholder van het Richterambt Doesburg ende momber van de Landschap.
Deze heeft de erfenis van Johan Langton in beheer, die zonder familie in 1643 is overleden.
Thomas claimt de erfenis, zeggende dat zij volle neven zijn.
Johan zou getuige geweest zijn bij de doop van Thomas' zoon Simon.

This day appeared personally before Mr Doctor Pope - Thomas Langton of the parish of St Brides in Fleet Street London, cutler, a bachelor aged 24 years or thereabout the son of Christopher Langton late of Harrow-on-the-Hill in the county of Middlesex, tailor, deceased for about 14 years since and he at his own yeternoment[?] and alleged that he intends to marry with Dorcas Chessh[ire] of the parish of St Dunstans in the West, London, maiden aged 17 years or thereabout the daughter of Thomas Chesshire of the same parish, cutler. And then also appeared Thomas Stone of the parish of St Martin-in-the-Fields London in the County of Midd[lesex], cutler, certified that the said Thomas Chesshire the father of the said Dorcas is privy and consenting to this intended marriage & they both affirme[d] that they know of no lawful let or impediment by reason of any precontract or otherwise to hinder the same wherefore the said Thomas Langton prayed to have licence to be married to the said Dorcas in the parish church of St Martin-in-the- Fields aforesaid.
