2 CONC in feite de heerschappij bleef voeren. In 421 huwdeTheodosius Athenaïs, als christin Eudokia genoemd, die Pulcheria van
2 CONC haarinvloed beroofde. Hun dochter Eudoxia werd uitgehuwelijkt aan keizerValentinianus III van het westelijk rijksdeel. De Codex Theodosianus(438), het
2 CONC eerste officiële keizerlijke wetboek, werd naar hem genoemd.Hij stichtte in Constantinopel een universiteit. Onder zijn bewind
